Dehydration

In chemistry, dehydration refers to a chemical reaction where a molecule loses a water molecule (H₂O). It’s the opposite of hydration, where a molecule gains a water molecule. Dehydration reactions are common in both organic and inorganic chemistry and can be used to create a variety of compound. This process often results in the formation of a double bond or a new compound.
