Carbocation

A carbocation is a molecular species featuring a positively charged carbon atom, typically denoted as C+. As highly reactive intermediates in organic chemistry, carbocations are characterized by a carbon atom that has only six valence electrons, rendering it electron-deficient and thus electrophilic.

Which carbocation is most stable?
The most stable carbocation is typically the tertiary benzylic carbocation or the tertiary allylic carbocation, due to the combination of hyperconjugation and resonance stabilization.
