Asymmetric synthesis

Asymmetric synthesis, also referred to as chiral synthesis or enantioselective synthesis, is a chemical reaction technique that generates unequal amounts of stereoisomers (enantiomers or diastereomers) when introducing new chiral centers. In essence, this method enables the creation of molecules with a distinct “handedness” (chirality), favouring one handed form over its counterpart.
