Palladium Catalysts
Palladium in both oxidation states (0, +2) is widely utilized as a catalyst in various synthetic methods and is also used in the preparation of many organic compounds. In particular, palladium on carbon is a versatile catalyst that speeds up heterogeneous catalytic processes like hydrogenation, dehydrogenation, and petroleum cracking. A large number of carbon–carbon bond-forming reactions in organic chemistry are facilitated by palladium metal catalysts.
