Amines

Amines are organic compounds characterized by the presence of carbon-nitrogen bonds. This unique structural feature is achieved through a process in which one or more hydrogen atoms from ammonia are substituted with alkyl or aryl groups. A key characteristic of amines is the presence of a lone pair of electrons on the nitrogen atom.
