Alkene

An alkene is a type of acyclic hydrocarbon characterized by its unique molecular structure. Specifically, an alkene consists of one or more carbon-to-carbon double bonds (C=C), resulting in a general molecular formula of CnH2n. This definition distinguishes alkenes from alkanes and makes them unsaturated compounds, as they contain fewer hydrogen atoms per carbon atom.
