Electrophile

What is a electrophile?
An electrophile is a chemical entity that readily accepts electron pairs from nucleophiles, forming strong bonds in the process. As a result, electrophiles exhibit characteristic properties of Lewis acids, which are species that accept electron pairs. Typically, electrophiles possess a positive charge, bear an atom with a partial positive charge, or have an atom that is deprived of an octet of electrons, making them highly reactive and capable of initiating chemical transformations.
